Summary

In a one-hour interval, more than 10,000 PXE Service Point requests were processed.

When a device PXE boots, it uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to send several requests. This counter indicates how many times a DHCP request was processed.

Causes

This condition could occur because:

  • Too many devices are PXE booting.

  • Too many devices are renewing IP address that are not related to PXE.

  • A rogue PXE client is on the network.

Resolutions

  • Determine whether there are too many devices PXE booting.

  • Ensure that there is no rogue PXE client on the network.
