Summary

The total number of queued configuration item assignment (CIA) replication files that could not be processed due to missing targeted configuration items or collections on the child site server has exceeded the standard operational threshold.

This folder stores configuration item assignment (CIA) replication files that could not be processed due to missing targeted configuration items or collections on the child site server. Configuration Item Assignment Manager will keep trying to process Configuration Item Assignments from the retry queue every timeout interval (default 30 minutes) for 2 days.

This condition may increase unless it is resolved. If the queued site server configuration item assignment files count keeps going beyond the threshold, configuration items will not be assigned to client machines in a timely manner, and configuration item compliance reports may not be accurate.

Causes

All these conditions may apply to both Parent and Child Primary site server.

  • The SMS Executive service is stopped or not responding on the site server.

  • The configuration item assignment thread is stopped or not responding on the site server.

  • The Object Replication Manager thread is stopped or not responding on the site server.

  • The Object Replication Manager has backlog and configuration items listed in the CIA are not yet added to ConfigMgr DB on child primary site.

  • The Collection Evaluator thread is stopped or not responding on the site server.

  • The Collection Evaluator has backlog and the targeted collection in CIA is not yet added to the ConfigMgr DB on the child primary site.

  • The Replication backlog on Parent or on Child Primary site is causing delay in targeted configuration items and/or Collection in CIA being processed on child primary site.

  • The site server processing rate is slower than the incoming rate of incoming configuration item assignment files which could not be successfully processed.

  • The incoming rate of incoming configuration item assignments is faster that the incoming rate of incoming configuration items.

  • The site server has insufficient resources such as CPU, memory, or disk space.

  • The ConfigMgr site database has no more space.

  • The site server has lost connectivity with the ConfigMgr site database.
