Summary

A Group Policy object cannot be found in the database for the Active Directory® directory service.

Causes

Possible causes include the following:

  • The object does not exist.

  • The domain controller does not have Read access to all the Group Policy objects (GPO) or organizational units (OU) that apply to the user or computer. This is a configuration issue, and it is usually a transient problem.

Sample Event:

Windows cannot find Group Policy object %1 in Active Directory. The object may not exist, or access to the object may be denied.
