Summary

The PDW Health Agent is not available on this node. Address this issue immediately to ensure an accurate understanding of the health of the PDW appliance.

Causes

The Health agent could not communicate with the application. One possible cause is the application is in the process of restarting.

Resolutions

To diagnose this issue:

1) On the Management node, use a Windows administrator account to review the lower level logs for the node.

2) Use the sys.dm_pdw_errors and sys.dm_pdw_os_events_logs DMV to check for relevant failures.

To resolve this issue, attempt to bring the Health Agent back online. To do this, use the Configuration Manager (dwconfig.exe) on the Management Node to review the state of the Health Agent service and to restart all services.

If restarting all services does not bring the Health Agent back online, contact Microsoft support and provide them with the alert name and details. Microsoft Support will help you to understand the failure and help you to bring the node back online or into a healthy state.
