Summary

The name supplied by the user in the Discovery Wizard does not match the NetBIOS computer name that was verified against the remote computer.

Causes

This can happen when:

  • There is a stale DNS entry.

  • The NetBIOS cache on the Management Server that attempted to install the remote computer is corrupt or out of date.

Resolutions

1. Perform the following steps on the Management Server that the User Interface is connected to:

  • Open a command prompt from: "Start" menu, then "Run", type "cmd.exe" and click OK or press Enter.

  • Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter.

  • Type "ipconfig /registerdns" and press Enter.

  • Type "nbtstat -RR" and press Enter. Note: RR must be in capitals.

2. Install the agent through the Discovery Wizard.
